A Too Faced Wishlist

With the holidays quickly approaching us spending bans are quickly becoming history as all the different makeup brands begin lining the shelves with their pretty holiday collections. I've particularly got my eyes set on no other than---Too Faced~ From their heart strikingly adorable packaging to their die for buttery eye shadows it's no shocker that they've caught my eye and heart. Spending ban or no spending ban this girl over here is already stocking up on her wish lists for poor ol' Mr. Claus~

After falling in love with Too Faced Sweet Heart Blush it's only time before I get my grubby little hands on this beauty~ Justify My Love is such a pretty fairy tale pink that the apple of my cheeks are screaming the injustice that I'd commit if I don't put this blusher in my shopping basket.

And did you see those bunnies?! I can't resist!
I just can't~

This too pretty for words eye shadow pallet literally smells like chocolate. Chocolate. How can you expect someone like me to turn something like that down. I mean who am I to say no to an eye shadow pallet crafted by the heavens?

Um, okay I'll admit the name of this mascara is a tad dicey if I'm stating it lightly and let's be real---it's hella awkward asking a sales associate, but after seeing a lot of you babes rave about this mascara I'm convinced. I'm ready to up my eye lash game~

The shades in this collection are flawless---from day time makeup to a sexy night out in town this eye shadow palette can do it all. Oh and the packaging---just darling!
I just can't wait to call it mine~

If a bronzer could take my breath away this one definitely did. While this snow bunny lives in Florida glowing skin never goes out of style~ Pale ghost to winter goddess coming right up.

Are you babes a Too Faced lover too?

Wow. . . I swear I'm not trying to instigate a lover's quarrel.
This make up brand can get a girl in a lot of trouble. . .

A NARS Convert | The Holy Grail Foundation

Friday, October 30, 2015

Hello, you lovely lot~

Well, well, well---what do we have here? A beauty post?  Beauty posts haven't seen the light of day around this part of the internet in a loooooooong time, but hey lets all roll with the punches and ignore that bit, okay? Okay. Glad we could reach to an agreement, because I have a huge announcement to make. *dramatic pause* Guys, I'm a NARS covert---okay, maybe it wasn't the hugest announcement, but it was an announcement none the less!

Every little part of me that used to roll my eyes at you beauty bloggers waving your pretty little jars of NARS foundation all about like it was the greatest thing invented since sliced bread---I now frantically wave back and say "I surrender, I surrender"! Yes, my darlings this little jar of foundation (a $60 lethal wound to your wallet if I might properly add!) is as amazingly wonderful as they say! A double pinky promise with a cherry on top to ensure you my sincerity.

Not too long ago I used to be the one who thought---"Could that foundation really be all that?" The pretty little bottle with NARS enscripted on it's surface sounded like a foundation of miracle workers. It must be too good to be true, right? I mean I had every right to be critical---a whooping $60 was a hefty price to pay, but I'm here to say three months later it's worth every cent!

Maybe, if you've been here for a while you'll remember over the summer I was going through a skin nightmare (you can read the post here) due to the formula of the foundation I was using at the time. This skin catastrophe had me running in circles looking for a replacement to hide the disaster my face had become. Little ol' me strut straight into Sephora with my face demons and all---grabbed a bottle of NARS ALL DAY LUMINOUS WEIGHTLESS FOUNDATION---approached the nearest makeup artist and asked for a match. I patiently waited as I felt the makeup brushes dab and fuss at my skin---feeling extremely exposed to have someone so near my face without makeup, but what I saw in the mirror next stole every flush of embarrassment and underlying hesitance my body was cloaked in. My skin looked absolutely flawless. I was never too keen on my peaches-and-cream skin tone, but for once I felt like my pale skin possessed a beauty that I hadn't seen before---this foundation made my skin radiant and force me to see past the blemishes---but see me instead. It didn't take much longer for me to run over to the counter and fork over the contents of my wallet.

Three months later and my skin is still thanking me. I can not tell you, babes enough how beautiful this foundation is. The application is literally effortless---it slides on like silk and melts straight into you skin. Don't even get me started on the coverage---pump this baby 1-2 times tops and you'll have a flawless finish in minutes. When they said luminous they weren't joking---this foundation has such a pearlescent properties it leaves your skin looking like it's glowing within. Don't believe me? Watch some first impressions on this foundation in action you'll be running to the nearest NARS counter in no time---trust me. If my wallet could afford it all you babes would be NARS converts~

August Wishlist

August began with wanderlust wishes so I thought I would end it the same way~
Fall is slowly falling upon us (pun intended~) and I couldn't be more excited! Seasonal drinks and pumpkin spice. Sweater and cuddle weather. The winds breaths are shallow and everyone's soul feels less hallow. I don't know about you, but I just can't wait! But, before August completely leaves us why not throw a few more wishes in the wind?

If a passport holder could make a girl cry---this one would do the trick~ Although, I haven't made any official announcements yours truly is studying abroad next summer in bellissimo Italy! This passport holder took the words right out of my mouth---I'm outta here~

Can a bag be anymore purrrfect?! This little bag just meowed itself right into my soul---which is probably why it is being express shipped to my house in the next couple of days.
Sorry I'm not sorry.

This foundation entered the beauty cult world not too long ago and for good reason too! I've heard nothing but it's flawless satin finish and doll like complexion that you can achieve with this heavenly bottle.
Yes, yes, and yes.

For a girl who thoroughly dislikes tea---I oddly have a utter obsession with pretty teacups. Fairy angels could bathe in this little teacup~

Other than my pretty teacup obsession---Tsum tsums are just my LIFE. These squishy collectible Disney characters basically define what adorable is. Sweet little Bambi is next on my to buy list~

Here's to a month of wishes and many more months to wishes coming true.

What are your August wishes?

MAC Studio Fix Foundation | Cult Product Gone Wrong

Monday, August 10, 2015

Let me start off by saying I used to swear by this foundation. It was my day and night. It used to be absolute perfection in a bottle and give a flawless finish like it was nobodies business. My face and this foundation used to be a THING. . .but now we might as well be a really bad summer fling.

Currently MAC Studio Fix and I are sworn enemies because it has wreaked havoc on my face. It was the nightmare of breakouts---I wish I was over exaggerating. For the past two months every morning I would wake up, look in the mirror, and CRY. Call me shallow, call me superficial, call me facile---I don't care! When you look in the mirror and feel absolutely awful---when you're not happy with what you see staring back at you---when you lose all your confidence---when you don't feel beautiful---when you start feeling like a STRANGER in your own body it begins to EFFECT your whole life. Not only physically, but mentally too and there is nothing superficial about that that!

In the beginning I didn't suspect my foundation at all. . .I mean why would I? I've been purchasing the same foundation devotedly for the past three years---it was like clock work when it came to me and MAC Studio Fix. So I thought what everyone else things when they go through a sudden breakout---it must be something in my diet. I relatively eat pretty healthy, but over the summer I let my sweet tooth go a little crazy. I basically began giving myself no slack. No fast food. No restaurants. Little to no sugar. Guess what happened it's gonna be a shocker---NOTHING. So I thought maybe it just wasn't a big enough change. More exercise? Nada---no change. New skin care products? That just made things way worst. Way worst.

But, then it dawned on me---what do I do nearly everyday? Put on foundation. What did I do two months ago? Buy a new bottle of my holy grail Studio Fix. I've been off the stuff for a good three weeks now and I've already seen massive improvements in my skin. Now in hindsight I remember how much worst my skin looked after I took off Studio Fix---my pores would be so clogged, my skin would look irritated, and worst yet there would be new break outs! It's been hard not wearing foundation especially when you so badly want to cover up---but what's a girl go to do. The health of my skin is more important!

Now don't get me wrong I still love MAC and their products (Hello, their lipsticks anyone?!)---but I feel like the formula for their foundations have changed. It used to deliver such a flawless and effortless finish---but now if I dare to even wear it I can tell I'm wearing foundation! Their already thick foundation is now difficult to blend when it used to just melt in my skin. Something is just not the same or who knows maybe it's just my skin. Either way I'm on the hunt for a new foundation.

Got any recommendations for me?

Dolce | My Signature Scent

Saturday, August 8, 2015

The fragrance for those who stumble upon love when picking out a bouquet of dreams.

This pretty little bottle here is an absolute dream and I simply had to share it with you, lovelies. Dolce is a very elegant and innocent scent---I've never encountered anything like it before. The elegant fragrance embraces your skin like a delicate floral bouquet---white water lilies and the white amaryllis flowers kiss your skin like secret admirers. The pure scent rings true with its earthy tones and leaves an irresistible trail of flower petals on your body. The rich notes envelope in a soft musk that is sensual, but unwarily sweet.

You'd swear that I was reading this out of some fairy tale or that this post here was sponsored. . .but trust me Dolce & Gabbana don't need any of my help to promote their multi-millionaire brand. I've just fallen in love with this little perfume here---pinky swears! Dolce & Gabbana have put so much thought behind this little fragrance it has literally blew me away and lead me researching their brand for a good hour or so. What a way to spend an afternoon let me tell you. Their dedication to their work is awfully inspiring so I thought I would share with you their work as well. You can check it out here if you're interested~

Once again I swear this isn't sponsored---I'm just a crazy girl who's fallen in love with a perfume bottle. Hey, don't judge the girl before you smell the perfume, capish? Capish~

By no means am I a makeup expert---but I sure do love to play with the stuff! Lately I've been gathering inspiration from fairy tales. You remember those old things? Mermaids swimming in vast oceans, strong princesses and kind princes, happily ever afters and wondering what happens after the afters---or maybe even the mean ol' monster living under your bed. There's just something so mystical and powerful about old stories~ Don't you think so?

When doing my makeup today I summoned my inner child (which quite frankly didn't need any summoning at all!) and played around with vibrant shades and glitter. What's more magical than glitter?! It's fairy dust in a bottle~

I still kept the shadows soft and let the metallic pigments do all the talking. We usually always go to our staple and good dependable neutrals, but sometimes it's fun to experiment a little. Let your inner child free and don't be afraid to try something new! Sprinkling a little fairy dust in your makeup routine never hurt anyone~

Makeup Dreams | A TonyMoly Wishlist

Oh, how I wish this was a haul instead of yet another wishlist. If you're not too familiar with TonyMoly---well let me enlighten you, because your life may never be the same again. TonyMoly is a Korean beauty brand and global cosmetic company, who strive to make cosmetics that gives their consumers youthful and radiant skin. Not only is this company known for their strides they take in inventing the latest beauty trends, but for their oh too adorable packaging. Yes, everything you see above you is a beauty product. That deviously cute and cleverly packed cherry is indeed a lip balm! That banana? The cutest banana custard hand cream you've ever lied your eyes on! Are you saying Holy Moly my little heart just can't take the cuteness? So am I~

Pocket Bunny Moist Mist
I dare you to tell me this isn't the CUTEST hydrating face mist you've ever seen?! Not only does this face mist hydrate, but it also sets your makeup and supports skin elasticity. Honestly, forget about skin elasticity look at his little bow tie~

My Little Pet Eyepatch
Uh, I've never wanted a pet eyepatch, but I do now~ The green tea extract in this mini eye mask brightens your eyes and supposedly reduces the appearance of dark circles. I think this tiny hamster has won my heart~

Cats Wink Powder Pact
I have a unhealthy  cat obsession and this kitten powder pact is my LIFE---and I don't even own it yet! This powder is not only cute, but provides a natural coverage + oil free skin. Did I mention the powder has an imprinted cat paw print. Just purrrfect~

Hello Sheep Mask
This little darling sheep mask deeply moisturizes your skin before you catch the Zzz's. I just want to cuddle with this packaging~

Magic Food Banana Hand Milk
This hand cream supposedly smells like banana custard, and that my friends is magic~

Mini Bling Pocket Hair Pack
I have no idea why this intrigues me so much, but putting my hair in a pocket for 30 minutes and taking it out to reveal silky locks is something that I must try! While the chances are slim that this actually works the little girl on this packaging makes me smile so. . .irresistibly cute packaging wins~

Cherry lip balm in the cute packaging of a cherry. . .yes please~

I've never used a lip scrub, but this packaging has convinced me that I need to begin~

Okay, this isn't from TonyMoly, but from Etude House instead. But, this milky body wash had to make the list~

I know, I know what you're thinking. "But, Sylvia what about the other face mist?" Oh, no honey I need ALL the bunnies~

I hope I don't appear shallow through this post---I swear I don't spend my days admiring beauty products. In fact I spend most of my days thinking way too much about the future and wishing I had a bundle of kittens to make me forget it all, so it's nice to make cute wishlists to get away from everything. It's the little things that make us smile~

What's your favorite TonyMoly products?

Polka Dots + Bandaids | The Pintrest Experiment [2]

Saturday, July 4, 2015

WARNING: Many band-aids were harmed during this operation.

I don't know about you, but my talents do not lie in the realms of nail art. I can barely paint my nails let alone paint fancy roses on my toes. So, today my friends if you find yourself not flourishing in the arts of the nail or maybe you're simply tired of painting delicate roses I think I've found a solution~ Our solution lies in the precious hands of a band-aid. Yes, a band-aid.

Have you ever wanted cute little polka-dots on your nail beds after gazing at perfect manicures on pintrest all day? Or maybe you find yourself thinking how in the world did that girl on the train manage to paint Van Gough's Starry Night on her nails with nothing but a toothpick?! Well I'm no Van Gough and neither am I the girl with the tooth pick, but I've got some pretty rad polka-dots~ How did I get these polka-dots you ask? Well if you read ahead I'll tell you exactly how~

What You Need:
-Band-aids (Make sure your band-aids have visible HOLES)
-2 Nail Polishes (one shade for your base + one for decorating)
-Scissors

Optional:
-Toothpick

What You Do:
1. Paint your nails the base coat color of your choice
Wait to DRY~

2. Take bandaids and cut the edges/sides with holes on it

3. With the new band-aid sides/edges tape them to your nails
TIP: If the holes on your band-aids are too small stretch your band-aid so they are more prominent

4. Paint over the band-aids with your second nailpolish as if you were painting your nails or simply adding a second coat!

5. After the polish has dried peel off the band-aids!
Marvel at your 10 minute cute polka-dot manicure~

Optional: Use a toothpick to fix any mistakes or to add any polka-dots that are missing

If I don't say myself this pintrest experiment was another success! I'm beginning to feel a bit of mad beauty scientist~ So what do you lovelies think about this nifty trick? Are you a whiz at nail art? Are there any pintrest experiments you want me to try out?

Wow! Too many questions in a row. Sorry, I just can't help it~ I'm really enjoying making this series for you all and I hope you enjoy reading it!

Well until we meet again lovelies sending you lots of love and light.

Hourglass Wishlist

If makeup was made out of dreams this would be it~ Hourglass is a brand that many lust after, but sadly this work or art doesn't have many suitors due to its hefty price tag. Honestly, the price sometimes makes me cry a little. 50 dollars for a blusher?! Oh, how my heart cries. But, price tags aside, there's no denying that Hourglass has produced gems in the makeup world. Here are just a few gems that I find myself falling in love over and over each time we catch each other's eye in the beauty store. I'm telling you we totally have chemistry~

Modernist Eyeshadow Palette
This beautiful eyeshadow palette really took the beauty world by surprise. But, it didn't take makeup lovers long to get their hands on this artist inspired palette. Can you blame them?! Look at how gorgeous it is! I personally love the palette Obscura for its rice earth tones. My eyelids would be in heaven~

Ambient Lighting Blush
I'm head over heels obsessed with blushers~ For a blush fanatic like myself this is a must have to add to my rosy cheek collection. The shade Radient Magenta is perfect in every possible way with its gold undertones I can only imagine how dazzling your cheeks will look.

Ambient Lighting Palette
This stunner highlighting/bronzer duo always gets my heart stuttering to convince my wallet it's time to lose a little weight. This finishing powder is supposed to deliver a multidimensional luminescence to every skin tone to appear as if you are glowing within. Time to release my inner light~

 Veil Mineral Primer
I've never been the one to board the primer train, but after hearing the promises of flawless makeup from this little bottle I'm about ready to jump on this forever talked about train.

Do you have any makeup you're drooling over? I'm all ears~
*hands you a napkin*

One day Hourglass you will be mine. One day.
