The Pink Maiden

The trees whispered of songs that lit up the night sky with fireflies and forbidden lies---she listened.

While makeup has made numerous appearances on this blog---fashion is something I have a fiery passion for and I honestly don't share that side of me enough with you beautiful babes. My style has definitely transformed over the years. I used to be strictly a monochrome babe believe it or not. But, these days I'm all about my pastels~ There's just something so romantic about baby soft colors. I mean what's more romantic than these dusty rose pink shorts?! Okay, well apparently a lot of things---but these baby pink shorties are my one true love this summer. You can read all about them over here if you would like~ 

Just the other day my little sisters, my darling kitty, and I took a little adventure in the woods. Our neighborhood is surrounded by a massive forest and the trees often whisper their sweet and silent invitations. Sadly, Snow White didn't peek out to say hello, but with my fellow sturdy oxfords we continued to trudge on deeper into the woods and further away from the safe lake that we often circle around. 

All of a sudden an eerie "Excuse me?" slowly floats out of the bushes. I quickly recognize it's an elderly woman's voice and give a hesitant and questioning "Yes?" in return. Because, obviously the sensible and right thing to do here is to talk to the mysterious voice in the bushes, right? Right. It gets creepier. The old woman in the most creepiest way possible asks where we live! Yeah, you would think at this point I'd stuff my sisters and cat in my basket and run with all the might my wobbly legs would allow. But, no, no of course not! I do what any smart and responsible citizen would do and tell the woman what subdivision we live in. I might as well have given her my blood type and what arm I'd rather have chopped off! I prefer the left, thank you. I can't lie to save my life, okay?! You could tell me to lie about picking the lint off someone's shirt and I will be a sobbing mess in seconds confessing my life story and vowing the rest of my life to you. I wish I was over exaggerating. . .

Anyways, back to the creepy old lady. I quickly realize my mistake and begin bumbling about other "lovely" subdivisions in the area hoping to confuse her with the other names. Yeah, that's right Sylvia use the art of confusion *eye roll*. While rambling on about nothing I dart my eyes around the woods keeping mental notes of the different paths just in case my sisters and I need to run. Call me paranoid but old ladies hiding in bushes aren't exactly my thing. The old woman curtly tells us to have a nice day and my sisters and I breathe a sigh of relief. My precious cat could care less as she slinks in the long grass looking for lizards and such. Old ladies don't bother that little missy. But, the moment of relief was short lived as I quickly realize one thing---I never heard footsteps walking away. I immediately turn around and there she is. Or maybe I should say a part of her. One eyeball peered through the leaves and branches. Is it necessary that I tell you that we were out of there! I didn't have to wait for any poisoned apple to make a dash for it. I apparently draw the line at eyeballs~

Now, you're probably all thinking I pulled this story out of a unicorn's butt---but I pinky swears I would never make any of this up! Double pinky swears~ Oh, Snow White how did you do it?! Well I think that's enough creepy tales for the day! But, before I go I have two questions for you lovelies! First comes, first serves. . .how do you all like fashion posts? The only thing that 'prevents' me from doing them is my camera is quite rubbish when it comes to taking full on body pictures. It's such a pain, but if you all don't mind too much then I don't mind overlooking a few pixels until I get a new camera! The second question is completely irrelevant from the first. . .

What's the creepiest thing that ever happened to you? I promise I won't get scared~

White Out

Let me start off by saying these sandals are da BOMB. Don't ask why I just said "da" and "bomb" just now, but these are the only words I can think of to describe these shoes. Or maybe I'm just watching too many 70's movies, but that's besides the point! I've been a sucker for white lately and when I spotted these babies in Traffic (don't worry that's the shop's name---I don't think I'd be lucky enough to find a pair of beauts like this while sitting on the interstate during rush hour) well let's just say it was love at first sight~

If I wasn't cool before I'm definitely cool now. 99% of the shoes I own are black so these all white sandals totally caught my eye. The white wash gives these sandals a retro feel that I just couldn't resist. The cut outs give them an edginess. The little gold brass clasps and chunky heel just sealed the deal~

Pink

Has this blog gotten entirely girly lately? Sorry I'm not sorry. It just can't be helped. Speaking of girly this bloody gorgeous pair of dusty rose shorts is as girly as it gets. Can you believe I found these beauts abandoned on the sale rack for less than a tenner. Honestly these type of things need to happen more often, because it gives us girls all types of feels when the sale rack has a gem like this~

I know pink isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I honestly think you just need to find your right shade of pink that suits you. Yeah, that's right you heard me. Your ears have not deceived you. There's a shade of pink out there somewhere looking for YOU. Speaking of shades of pink I think these shorts are the most beautiful dusty pink rose I've ever laid my eyes on. Its not only the color I like---its well just about everything~ The material of these shorts are lightweight, but somehow still maintain this luxurious feel to them. Oh, and don't get me started on the on the adorable pleats which make these shorts 100 times cuter than they already were. I suppose you can say I'm in pink heaven. 

FUN FACT: I actually used to detest the color pink and was strictly a monochrome gal. But, when pastels entered my life there was no turning back~

Pure Vanity

Anything that contains lace, frills, or even remotely holds a sprinkle of elegance has already won my heart and will soon be living in my closet for all eternity. What can I say I'm a sucker for the romantic look? But, alas I am sad to say not many shops carry such clothing. So above you is just a sneak peak of my absolute dream closet.

Our Majesty Blouse: Can we all just take a moment to marvel at this high neckline. I mean look at the intricate flower detail. The breathtaking lace. The scalloped finish. Everything about this is bloody GORGEOUS~  All there is left to say is I NEED this in my life as soon as possible. Pretty please with a cherry on top~

Baby Doll Skirt: This skirt is simply made of dreams~ I especially love the sheer trim at the bottom and the fullness of this skirt. It screams "sophisticated princess". Well if skirts actually did scream such things it would be rather alarming, but you get what I mean.

Lacy Dreams High Knee Socks: Look at those frills! Need I say more?

Love Spell Oxfords: These pastel pink oxfords seem fit for a princess~ Aren't they just an absolute dream to look at?

Crop It Up

The sun is back and so are crop tops! It seems like with each day that passes good old sunny Florida is trying to give me a heat stroke, but I'm definitely prepared this season with these cute light weight tops~ Crop tops are kind of my everything and I always seem to stumble upon one's that I simply can't resist adding to my closet collection. Mr. Kitty crop top I'm looking at you! 

These are simply a few of my favorites that I currently own and can't wait to style for you! Did anyone say future post. . .eeep~ The fabric material is so light weight and flowy which is ideal for Florida weather. They literally feel like a dream to wear. The ruffles definitely add a cuteness factor if I don't say myself~ All three tops have a dantiness and edginess to them which is a look I'm always trying to capture. Best of both worlds ;) What I simply love about these tops and crop tops in general is they always have the most interesting prints on them. These are definitely more fun and flirty, but there are so many versatile styles you can play around with!

Fuzzy Jumper

As much as we all would love to stay snuggled up in our beds till winter has packed it's bags and left that isn't exactly the most realistic thing or the healthiest (though in the morning I would beg to differ!). But, there are definitely perks to the chilly weather and one of those perks being the very cute winter fashion. One of these cute fashion trends are these adorable fuzzy jumpers. There is nothing like wearing an over-sized jumper which is probably the next best thing to staying in bed if I don't say myself~

These jumpers are so SOFT and COMFY. Did you notice the capped letters? I could fall asleep in these pastel dreams. Speaking of pastel I'm kind of obsessed which is probably why I bought two of these jumpers. I couldn't decide which color I liked better! Can you really blame me? Can you decide?

Craving Sweater Weather

I will be honest with all of you and say I absolutely hate cold weather. I completely detest it and I too often take for granted the all year round sunshine in good ol' Florida. Oh, but how I adore knit sweaters and cozy jumpers~ 

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I can't help but romanticize curling near a crackling fire place and sipping on a mug of hot chocolate with fluffy marshmallows~ I don't even like marshmallows for God's sake, but it's just not the same without the cute little marshmallows (Please tell me I'm not the only one!). Something about fall fashion makes me delirious with joy~ 

Before I stray any further from topic above are just a few of my favorite fall/winter looks! Watching my blogger feed with all of you strutting your fall fashion has made me grow quite envious! Heh heh~

BLONDIE

Excuse the rubbish quality photos as this was a last minute idea. To be completely honest with you I was extremely hesitant to upload this post because I only like presenting my work in the best possible light. It irks me (and that's stating it lightly) when I can't present something of mine to my 'perfectionist' standards. A too late realization had me thinking how am I ever going to be able to look back and see how much I've improved one day if I always reject my work. So perfect or not here we gooooooo. . .

This little dress is definitely one of my staples in my wardrobe. It will always be my go to outfit when I can't be bothered with picking out a full fledged look and laziness is a good excuse as any other to wear a dress. I know there are some girls who are apprehensive on wearing dresses especially if there is no special occasions involved, but if you're currently under that mind set my friend I'll be the first one to tell you. . .you are wrong! I swear wearing dresses are a lot more easier than wearing a pair of your favorite old fashioned blue jeans! Dresses can easily become a staple to anyone's wardrobe as it you can easily bring a variety of looks to the table without you even trying. Be it a bold vibey look or something innocent and feminine. 

Now maybe high low dresses have went out of fashion, but I'm still in love with this look It is absolutely perfection when we're in this awkward season between summer and fall. Particularly with this dress I love how part of the skirt is sheer I think it adds a special something. You can never go wrong with a high waisted anything~

On another plus side walking around with a flowy trail behind you always makes you feel magical or maybe it was just the creepy abandoned house. . .

School Haul 2.0

Many of you are probably sick of hearing me babbling about school, but I can't help it, okay?! School takes up more than half of my life so if I'm not home blogging away more than likely I'm twiddling my thumbs at my college campus. Coincidentally, today was my first day back attending fall classes. Wait-wait! Don't you dare click that little red 'X' button in a desperate attempt to escape. I see you. . .I see all of you.

I pinky promise this post is fashion related and I hopefully have a few tips to share with you. So it's the first day of school or maybe even the night before and you're standing in front of your closet with terror stricken eyes asking yourself one simple question. What in the world are you going to wear?! Behind you a tornado like scene of clothes, tops, and those new skinny jeans you recently purchased are hanging in distress in places where clothes should never be laying about. Maybe you're thinking am I trying too hard? Or maybe even this damned skirt doesn't go with anything! Shush, shush my darlings because mama has come to the rescue~

Before I wrap this post up I wanted pinch in my two cents for any jitterbugs out there (I'm a little jitterbug myself). I just wanted to say no matter what you wear or what your style is. . .just be you. Whatever clothes you dress in, whatever outfit you choose. . .ROCK IT! Don't worry about what other people will think or say because truth to be told a few years down the road those very people you're afraid of judging you won't even be in your life anymore or low behold the same state! Cast all those bad thoughts away because you want to know something? You are simply amazing~

I hope all of you enjoyed this post as much as I had creating it. I had so much fun creating all the different looks and writing this for all of you. Believe it or not I actually held back while I invented all these looks. . .I wanted to put in so much more detail, but I didn't want to send anyone running for the bushes simply because this was my first time doing something like this. I wanted to share all my ideas behind each outfit or simply what perfume I'd wear with each particular look. I'm quite meticulous when it comes to these things, but I suppose those details will have to wait for another day~

Knapsacks

Personally, one of my favorite things about school rolling back into season is bag shopping. There are so many different cute designs that I hardly ever know which one to choose. Nevertheless, this time around that's exactly what happened. I just could not resist picking up these two little beauties. I know- I know. You're probably yelling at your computer screen right this very moment. "What in the world are you going to do with two backpacks, Sylvia?!". Well to justify the matter of things I've had the same bag for three years now. I think the time has come to put the poor thing to rest. It's had a long run. . .*sniffles* Ah, how I'll miss you, bb (backpack buddy)~ 

What I love about knapsacks these days is they really pack a punch to any outfit. Sometimes I even prefer them over a handbag. Especially the days when I'm frolicking around my college campus.

These two little bags might as well be night and day. I love how chic the black&gold contrast against each other. Even though the style may be simple I feel that it has a luxurious note to it. May I even dare say it looks lush~ The other bag on the other hand is much more low key. It's texture, the pattern, the little buckle&snaps are very old school. But, that's the very reason why I absolutely adore it~

I'm actually looking forward to swing these two bad boys out through out the school year. Watch out college I've got a new backpack fully equipped with pencils&over priced books. Don't try me. . .

These past couple weeks have been quite a roller coaster for me. Tears have been shed. A classic mind war erupted. More tears. Shuffling around the house pathetically in pajamas. More waterworks. The whole sniffling shebang. But, I'm finally back (and for good this time! Cross my heart&hope to die~)! And what better pick me up than to pose in the middle of the street like a complete idiot~

So I'm not exactly a simple type of girl. I've always had an eye for fine detail and I'm attracted to things that aren't exactly 'in the box'. Be it bold or delicate. But, sometimes you just can't beat the basic look.

I love the feel of this baggy striped tee and the contrast of the polkadot tights. I kept my accessories very minimal to achieve this look of simplicity. And, hey who needs accessories when you can stomp around in combat boots like a complete boss~ Does anybody else feel me?

So I know this post is super short, but I hope you'll find it in your hearts to forgive me. Before I go though I just wanted to leave on this note. If anyone is going through a rough time right now I wanted to let you know that it does get better. I promise! I pinky promise & everyone knows no one breaks that important ish up unless they're a heartless puppy killer. Maybe it's not today or even tomorrow, but it does get better. It will! You just have to be patient for the sun to shine through your stormy clouds. What feels like the end is often the beginning.
